The Gate Beer Festival
August 28-31 2009 - "A resounding success..."
Over a thousand people attended the first annual beer festival at the Gate Inn. This year's beer festival offered a wide range of traditional ales and ciders. Over 30 different brews were available to sup in the commemorative beer festival glasses. Traditional food including a pig-roast was available throughout the festival. The hamburgers and hot dogs were particularly popular with the festival-goers. On-site camping facilites are also available and those brave enough to camp had the added bonus of not having to pay the advertised fee. The facilities were offered for free.
Live entertainment was provided by the Wild Irish , Tarquin and Ruth. There will also opportunities for jamming as well. When the bands weren't performing to the appreciative audience a wide selection of recorded music kept the spirits alive. On Bank Holiday Monday a local walk of about 6miles took place and over 50 people and several dogs had a very enjoyable break from all the eating and drinking.
Preparations are being made for next year's festival and as soon as there is any information it will be published on this site.
